Winter 2006---Where's the snow?
Newsletter December 9, 2006

+30, can you believe it!!!   Today is very cloudy, the clouds are loaded with snow, I just know it!!

The forecast has been for snow showers all week and we are still waiting on those.   Maybe it saved all of the smaller snow showers for one great big one!   One can only hope!!!!!!!!   It is starting to snow a little this morning so we’ll keep our fingers crossed.

We have about an inch of fresh snow on the trails, a little bit of wind, not much though.   The trail from Paxson is wind blown between 9 to 15 mile, yesterday there was a skiff of snow on the pavement, just enough to give a false sense of snow.

The trail through High Valley is a snowmachine trail, about as wide as 2 snowmachines, there are some drifts between 28 and 32 mile.

The 7 Mile – Glacier Gap trail is in.   There is a small amount of overflow, but with the cold weather we have been having, it is really no surprise.

We still do not have enough snow to run the groomer with out chancing some major damage to the “Beast”.   Soon, though, soon.

Remember, the Gin Gin Sled dog race is going on this weekend – Starting at Meiers Lake to Maclaren and back.

If you are in the area, be cautious and use your common sense.
